Shawnee Dentist Gives Back

Well it was another very successful weekend for the Kansas Mission of Mercy in Independence, KS.  For those of you who are not familiar with the KMOM, it’s a charitable program started several years ago in which dentist come together to donate their time and talent to provide for those who do not have the means to seek out regular dental care.  If you’d like to learn more about this program just go to www.ksdental.org.

Was it worth the drive?

Absolutely!  I’ve been helping out with KMOM almost from the beginning and each year regardless of the drive, the appreciation and gratitude of the patients we help is overwhelming.  When you don’t have the opportunity for regular dental care, everything seems to get out of control.  Being able to offer a helping hand to alleviate dental pain always puts a smile on a face.  The comradery of the volunteers and dental personnel associated with the Mission simply touches my heart.  These are all great people!  I can’t wait until February next year to carry on in Hutchison, KS.

If you’d like to get involved with the Kansas Mission of Mercy, look for updates at www.ksdental.com, or send us an e-mail at info@dervindental.com.  Count your blessings everyone and extend a helping hand when you can.
